Dr. Kellington's two main approaches to acupuncture:
In both of these forms of treatment, the acupuncture needles are in place for 30-50 minutes with the goal of
treating the patient’s current health concern, improving overall health and promoting relaxation.
- Using acupuncture to heal musculo-skeletal issues by promoting blood flow, relieving muscle tension and releasing endorphins to reduce pain. Dr. Kellington uses this approach to treat arthritic pains, neck and back pain, headaches, sciatica and to decrease inflammation. If applicable to the patient's case, Dr. Kellington can also use IMS (intramuscular stimulation, also known as trigger point release) to relieve areas of muscular tension and pain. gap gap
- Using the principles of oriental medicine to help heal any health condition through a whole body approach. During this form of acupuncture, Dr. Kellington will insert acupuncture needles in various points along acupuncture meridians to help balance the organ systems in the body. This whole body approach is useful for treating mental/emotional health, digestive issues, allergies, urinary issues, respiratory issues and all hormonal concerns including fertility and pregnancy. Dr. Kellington also uses this approach to treat addictions and cravings, thus, helping her patients to quit smoking and lose weight.
