As a clinical counsellor, I collaborate with clients to help them pursue understanding, meaning, and healing in their lives. Through the use of dialectical behaviour therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and mindfulness, my goal is to support clients on their journey. Clients are encouraged to focus on the role they play in their own lives today and moving forward, and in forming meaning and purpose. My hope is that clients achieve personal growth, connectedness, and the ability to face life head on. I am a momma, a teacher, counsellor (MC, CCC), volunteer, and a life-long learner. My passion is to help others on their own journey. I love to travel, eat beautiful food, and stay active. More than anything I love to share all of these things with the people in my life. As a teacher for the past 10 years I have had the incredible opportunity of teaching hundreds of students. In this role I have been able to support students to reach their educational goals. My experience has taught me that children often need more than this type of guidance on their journeys. They require social and emotional support in order to thrive. Therein lies the root of my desire to become a counsellor. I am a certified counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Over the past two years I have worked as a clinical counsellor at the YWCA of Calgary. I have supported clients in building healthy relationships, developing positive parenting skills, practicing mindfulness, reducing stress, and helping women, children, men and families heal from trauma.t
