Dr. David Peterson
Dr. Peterson is a Calgary chiropractor with a specialty Fellowship in Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation. He is interested in evaluating and treating body movement, posture, strength and balance. Our sedentary lifestyles create postural and muscular imbalances that will progress from muscle fatigue and soreness to pain and tension to injury and tissue failure. Often times the area of pain is not the source of the problem.
Dr. Peterson has been very active in the chiropractic profession, serving as President of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, President of the Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation, Registrar for the College of Chiropractors of Alberta and Chairman of the Commission on Accreditation. He presently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis.
It has been Dr. Peterson’s goal to establish a center for natural health care, with a focus on back pain and overall wellness with a team of health care providers. Active Back to Health Centre opened in the Chinook Professional Building in 2000 comprising of chiropractic, massage therapy, naturopathy, acupuncture, nutrition, exercise therapy, rehabilitation and counselling. Dr. Peterson believes that no one health care practitioner can provide all the answers and that working as a team is the most effective manner to achieve optimal health.
In his out of office time, Dr. Peterson enjoys the outdoors. Weekends will find him either at the lake or in the mountains with family and friends. David and his wife Nola have three grown children and three amazing grandchildren.
